Red Cross CNA training is available in many states and follows a curriculum organized nationally.
The hours required to complete the training program vary though and because of this, classes held by the Red Cross CNA follow specific stare requirements.
Red Cross CNA training participants must participate fully in class and skill sessions and complete all skill and knowledge performance evaluations. Trainees must expect strenuous activities and if you have some physical disability or medical condition, you may not be able to take part in a Red Cross CNA training program. If you have doubts in your capabilities to participate n this training, you can discuss it fully with a health-care provider or the authorized person at the Red Cross chapter in your area prior to starting the course.
After training with the Red Cross CNA program, the examination will have two parts: Written Exam and Skills Test. The examination lasts for about 5 ½ hours and can be completed in a day with the Skills Test having to be passed first before taking the Written Exam. Results of the examination are given on the same day and if you pass, you’ll get your State Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification right after.
The requirements for Red Cross CNA training participants are:
• Should be 18 years old or above
• No criminal records within the last seven years
• Must not be pregnant
• Must have no communicable diseases
NOTE: In case your TB screening result or background check does not clear and training commenced, you will get a refund of your registration fee however the $35 screening fee is non-refundable.
While a Red Cross CNA training participant you are required to:
• Attend all classes. You are allowed to miss six hours which you have to make up for
• Arrive on time
• Pass the final test. Passing score is 80% and above
Training participants are responsible for their transportation to and from the clinical site and classroom. You are also expected to wear comfortable clothing as classes involve lying and kneeling n the floor.
Returning Certified Nursing Assistant testing fee costs $100, non refundable and is due one week before the date of the state examinations.
Red Cross CNA training helps in the encouragement of nursing aides to become certified nurses. Also this training program gives more time for nurses to focus on their main tasks and responsibilities.
